WATER AND SANITATION IN INTERNATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT AND DISASTER RELIEF
Edinburgh, UK, 28 - 30 May 2008

Important Note for Authors

Authors of papers to be presented at the International Workshop on Water and Sanitation in International Development and Disaster Relief and published in the proceedings are required to meet the following criteria that will be used in the review.

  1. Given the multidisciplinary nature of the workshop, authors need to introduce their subject area well - so non-experts of their field can understand their topic and terminology.  At least the introduction and motivation for the work should be understandable by an audience with a tertiary education.  Ensure the work is relevant to international development and/or disaster relief.
  2. Please be aware that the audience is from very diverse cultural and international backgrounds and ensure that any country-specific background of your study is brought into context of this culture.
  3. A thorough and up to date literature review is should be provided, enabling the general reader to put the present work into context. Literature is to be references in the style of the template provided.
  4. It is anticipated that the results of any experiments or studies reported should result in the contribution of new knowledge to the author's own field.  Thus, it is hoped that a balance can be achieved between the tutorial value of paper and its original/significant contribution. The use of high quality graphs, photos and figures is encouraged where appropriate.
  5. Papers need to be written in good quality English and for authors who do not have English as their native language it is suggested to get a native English speaker to proofread their paper before submission.
  6. Paper template needs to be adhered to.

Please note that publication of the paper is subject to a positive review, incorporation of reviewers comments into a revised publication, and the receipt of the registration & payment of the registration fee by the 31 March 2008. Papers without valid registration & payment by this date will not be published.
