Dr. Roger Sidaway
Roger Sidaway is an Independent Research and Policy Consultant specialising in conflict resolution and public participation studies, which he has undertaken for government organisations in Britain and The Netherlands.
He has trained as both an environmental and community mediator and is a Board member of the Scottish Mediation Network, chairing its environmental and planning initiative. His recent work includes participatory exercises on tourism and visitor management in the Cairngorms and Upper Deeside and developing partnerships with local authorities and community groups in Edinburgh.
He also leads postgraduate courses on participation in policy and planning at The University of Edinburgh, where he is an Honorary Fellow.
His book Resolving Environmental Disputes: From Conflict to Consensus was published by Earthscan in May 2005.
