The University of Edinburgh: Carlyle Letters Conference

10 - 12 July 2012, Edinburgh

The 2012 conference will celebrate the publication of 40 volumes of the Duke-Edinburgh edition of 'The Collected Letters of Thomas and Jane Welsh Carlyle'. Durham, North Carolina: Duke University Press, 2012 (volume 40 forthcoming November).

It will also be part of the 2012 programme for the 250th anniversary of the founding of the first Regius Chair in literature in Britain (Hugh Blair, professor of Rhetoric and Belles Lettres, Edinburgh, 1762), being held by the English Literature department, School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures, University of Edinburgh.

  • Registration deadline for presenters: 1 June 2012

  • Registration deadline for non-presenting delegates: 20 June 2012
